The association Moruroa e tatou (website) was established on 1 July 2006 (Statutes). Seated at the headquarters of the Evangelic Church of French Polynesia in Papeete, the association is made of "full-right members" and "friends". Membership is today c. 4,000. Full-right members are:
- the former workers and soldiers who contributed to the French
nuclear trials in French Polynesia (sites of Moruroa and Fangataufa)
since 2 July 1966 (the date of the first trial), and their relatives;
- the members of the Comité de suivi Moruroa e tatou;
- the inhabitants of French Polynesia claiming to be the victim of the
[193] nuclear trials performed between 1966 and 1996.
The aim of the association is to obtain, through all available legal
means, the right to be informed on the consequences on health of the
contribution to the nuclear trial programs, the right of access to
radiologic and medical data, and the right of pension, indemnification
and healthcare.
The association is named for the book Moruroa et nous (Moruroa and Us), published by Pieter de Vries and Han Seur in August 1997. The book is based on a sociologic survey of 737 former workers organized in summer 1995 by the Hiti Tau (New Era) NGO and the Evangelic Church of Polynesia. This was the first survey aimed at assessing the consequences of nuclear trials on human health.

The flag of Moruroa e tatou (photo, photos, photo, photo, photo) is horizontally divided black-red. In the middle is placed the emblem of the association, a white tiki (a sacred Polynesian carving in humanoid form); the name of the association is written in white capital letters in the lower part of the red stripe.
